Why compare digital mailbox providers?
From 2027, every business and sole trader in Slovakia will be required to send and receive electronic invoices through the IS EFA system of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic. To connect to this system you need a certified digital mailbox provider — an intermediary that delivers your invoices to the recipient in a structured UBL 2.1 format.
As of May 2026, the Slovak Financial Administration's certified provider list contains 27 vendors — ranging from local Slovak ERP firms through Big-4 audit advisors to global e-invoicing players. Only 5 of them publish a full price list in EUR (Asseco, Doklado, Fakturix, Billit, Qvalia); 2 more publish prices partially (Flowis, Pagero/Thomson Reuters). The remaining ~19 require contacting the sales team — typically enterprise solutions (EDICOM, EY, PwC, Pagero) or ERP add-ons (POHODA, Softip, ESO9, ReSOFT/Refis, All Soft Corp, Archiles).
This overview compares all 27 certified providers across 15 criteria — from pricing and Peppol certification to the availability of an API and customer support. The goal is not just to find the cheapest option, but the provider best suited to your type of business — whether you are a sole trader, a mid-size company, an online shop, an accounting firm, or a multinational corporation.
Every provider must meet the baseline requirements of the Financial Administration, so all are legally equivalent in terms of compliance. The differences lie in pricing transparency, user experience, automation, support localisation, and accessibility for Slovak micro-businesses. The market is young and pricing is still in flux — the figures shown here reflect May 2026 and may change before the 1 January 2027 mandate.
How to get started with e-invoicing?
From May 2026 you can verify your company on the Financial Administration portal and select your digital mailbox provider. If you choose Kaja Solutions s.r.o. (ePošťák), we will automatically send you an email — click the link, set your password, and you are ready to start using the dashboard.
We will automatically register you in the Peppol SMP (Service Metadata Publisher), so your company will be immediately visible in the Peppol Directory and ready to send and receive e-invoices. The entire process takes less than two minutes.
For companies with their own ERP or accounting system, the Enterprise API is available with over 48 endpoints, TypeScript and Python SDKs, and a full OpenAPI reference. You can also issue invoices via a Telegram bot — just photograph an invoice or type "invoice XY for €500" and the bot will create, validate, and send the invoice for you. We demonstrated this feature at a Financial Administration webinar.

Questions about choosing a digital mailbox provider
All certified digital mailbox providers meet the baseline requirements of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic — receiving and sending e-invoices via IS EFA. The differences are in pricing, user experience, API availability, support for accountants managing multiple companies, and customer support quality. Some providers focus on small businesses and sole traders, others on the enterprise segment processing thousands of invoices per month. The key is to choose based on your actual needs, not just on price.
Yes. Switching providers is technically possible — the Financial Administration allows you to change your assignment. We recommend choosing correctly from the start, however, as migrating invoice history can be complex and time-consuming. The process typically takes 1–3 working days and involves registering with the new provider, updating your assignment in IS EFA, and optionally exporting history from your previous provider.

Technically yes — the Financial Administration does not limit the number of digital mailbox providers per company. In practice, however, this creates confusion as invoices would arrive in multiple places, making it difficult to maintain a clear overview. If you have a specific reason (such as separating domestic and international invoices), it is better to find a single provider that handles both. ePošťák's Peppol certification covers both domestic and international invoicing from one interface.
Your invoices are also stored in the IS EFA system of the Financial Administration. If your provider ceases operations, you can choose a new one and continue sending and receiving invoices without data loss. Invoice history in the FS SR system is preserved regardless of which provider you use. Switching involves three steps: (1) registering with the new provider and verifying your company, (2) updating your assignment in the IS EFA system of the Financial Administration — an administrative action done through the FS SR portal, and (3) optionally exporting historical data from your previous provider. The entire process typically takes 1–3 working days. A brief gap in invoice receiving may occur during the transition, so we recommend scheduling the switch at the beginning of the month.

How we compared
This comparison draws from publicly available sources as of May 2026 — provider websites, official price lists, documentation, OpenAPI specifications, and general terms and conditions. We also reviewed dedicated Peppol landing pages (asseco-peppol.com, digitalnypostar.com, eso9peppol.eu, fakturix.sk) and the global pricing of foreign providers. We evaluated 15 criteria — from receiving and sending price, freemium availability, API and multi-client access, through Slovak-language support and Peppol certification, to Telegram bots and liability for damages. For the 5 providers with a fully public price list (Asseco, Doklado, Fakturix, Billit, Qvalia) we cite specific EUR prices; for the rest we mark 'on request' or 'verifying'.
