Why compare digital mailbox providers?
From 2027, every business and sole trader in Slovakia will be required to send and receive electronic invoices through the IS EFA system of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic. To connect to this system you need a certified digital mailbox provider — an intermediary that delivers your invoices to the recipient in a structured UBL 2.1 format.
As of 6 July 2026, the Slovak Financial Administration's certified provider list contains 45 vendors — ranging from local Slovak ERP firms through Big-4 audit advisors to global e-invoicing players. Only a smaller part of the market publishes a full or comparable price list; for the rest we show that pricing is not publicly published or still needs verification.
This overview compares all 45 certified providers across 15 criteria — from pricing and Peppol certification to the availability of an API and customer support. The goal is not just to find the cheapest option, but the provider best suited to your type of business — whether you are a sole trader, a mid-size company, an online shop, an accounting firm, or a multinational corporation.
Every provider must meet the baseline requirements of the Financial Administration, so all are legally equivalent in terms of compliance. The differences lie in pricing transparency, user experience, automation, support localisation, and accessibility for Slovak micro-businesses. The market is young and pricing is still in flux — the figures and editorial order shown here reflect 12 July 2026 and may change before the 1 January 2027 mandate.
How to get started with e-invoicing?
You submit the provider and intermediary selection through the Slovak Financial Administration application. According to the official guide, you need authority for a taxable entity with an assigned and notified tax ID, enter an email address and phone number, and allow the selected intermediary to receive the entity data. Submission is confirmed in the personal internet zone.
Submitting the selection does not make the mailbox active immediately. The selected intermediary completes its contractual and technical setup and then arranges the company's availability in the Peppol Directory under its own onboarding process. Confirm activation timing with the selected provider; the official guide does not guarantee a universal two-minute activation.
For companies with their own ERP or accounting system, the Enterprise API is available with over 48 endpoints, TypeScript and Python SDKs, and a full OpenAPI reference. You can also issue invoices via a Telegram bot — just photograph an invoice or type "invoice XY for €500" and the bot will create, validate, and send the invoice for you. We demonstrated this feature at a Financial Administration webinar.

Compare not just the monthly fee but also the per-document cost for sending and receiving. Some providers offer receiving in the web interface in the plan — others charge per invoice. ePošťák provides receiving in the web interface within the Free program limits (500 received and 5 sent invoices per month). Also watch out for hidden fees on API calls, data exports, or archiving older invoices. A clear price list with no asterisks is a basic indicator of a trustworthy provider.

If you use an accounting system (POHODA, Money S3, MRP, or a custom ERP), check for API availability or a direct integration. All certified digital mailbox providers meet the baseline requirements of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic — receiving and sending e-invoices via IS EFA. The differences are in pricing, user experience, API availability, support for accountants managing multiple companies, and customer support quality. Some providers focus on small businesses and sole traders, others on the enterprise segment processing thousands of invoices per month. The key is to choose based on your actual needs, not just on price.
A provider change is possible, but the official selection guide does not define a universal deadline or a complete migration procedure. Before changing, confirm termination, invoice and metadata export, archive access, and the new technical setup with both providers.

Do not assume that IS EFA preserves your complete usable history on your behalf. Before signing, verify archive duration, bulk export of invoices, metadata and audit trail, access after termination, and the data handover procedure if the provider changes or ceases operating.

We evaluated 15 criteria — from receiving and sending price, freemium availability, API and multi-client access, through Slovak-language support and Peppol certification, to Telegram bots and liability for damages. Where public CPDS pricing is missing, we show “Not published” or “verifying” instead of filling in speculation.
The editorial order and public data were updated on 12 July 2026; the list of 45 certified CPDS providers comes from the Financial Administration document dated 6 July 2026. Where data was not publicly available, we show 'verifying' or 'Unknown' — we do not fill in speculation.
